Feedsupplements - dogs and kats
Glucosamine / Chondroitin
As a dog, cat or horse ages, trains a lot or works hard, mobility can deteriorate. This loss of mobility may be associated with a deficiency in essential needs, which are usually met by diet. An example of this is Glucosamine. Glucosamine is an essential building block in the cartilage and synovial fluid and is therefore especially important around the joints. Glucosamine is also responsible for joint lubrication. Older animals may develop a glucosamine deficiency. Older horses, cats and dogs therefore produce less synovial fluid, which causes wear and tear and subsequently increases the risk of joint inflammation. To prevent this or to ensure that these shortcomings are met, it is advisable to provide the animal with additional glucosamine, among other things.
Essential fatty acids (Omge 3 and Omega 6)
Omega 3 and Omega 6 are among the essential fatty acids for dogs and cats. Like vitamins, they cannot produce Omega 3 and Omega 6 themselves and will therefore have to be in the diet. However, many dogs and cats do not or do not receive enough Omega 3 and 6 through their diet. A lack of essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and 6 can lead to dry, itchy or inflamed skin, hair loss, poor wound healing and reduced resistance. A supplement to the diet of dogs and cats containing Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids is therefore very important.
